POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Programmer will take ownership of large corporate internet application development projects which adhere to high quality standards. Follow detailed guidelines set forth in a Design Document to create corporate internet applications such as:

• Search-&-Display functions
• Shopping carts
• SSL dynamically generated databases
• Banner rotation system, chats, message boards
• Dynamically created PDF's

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and document Perl code and MySQL databases for web applications. Participate in design and specifications. Maintain existing applications, performing routine enhancements and upgrades.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Will most often be using Perl in a Linux environment.
Requirements:

• At least 2 years experience in CGI, Perl and web applications programming
• knowledge and experience with SQL, in either MySQL or Oracle.
• System administration experience in a UNIX/Linux environment and knowledge of Apache, mod_perl, sendmail, and qmail preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and must be able to work well in a team.
• Results-oriented, able to learn new technologies rapidly and thoroughly, handle multiple tasks/priorities under time pressure.

 

EDUCATION:
Degree or diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
